Fun Lunch and Baby Kicks

The past week has been nuts! We had two pretty big events at work that consumed all of my time for four days, fitting in lunch with my Tina and Brandon finally got a big kick from the baby!!

As I mentioned a few posts ago, Brandon has been anxiously awaiting a kick from the baby, that he knew was clearly a kick. Well last night, shortly after I got home from work, I told him to give me his hand- because I was sure if he would just leave it there for a minute, he would get a kick. Brandon reluctantly did it. He had his hand on my belly for like 30 seconds, and BOOM! a big strong kick-right into his hand!! He said it felt like someone thumped him! Needless to say, we were both super excited! It has been so hard describing the kicks to him and he not know what they felt like. So at least now, I think he atleast has an idea. We also found out that Brandons iphone has an app for counting baby kicks and timing contractions! Is technology not crazy!

Also last week Tina and I got have lunch together!!! We had sort of gotten off track of our monthy lunch or dinner get togethers, and because of that we had a ton to catch up on- an hour certainly wasn't enough! But she is going to come up early for our "baby party" in March so hopefully then we will really be able to talk. :)

Brandon took down the bed in the front guest room, which I now need to start calling the nursery, instead of the front guest bedroom! I was able to snap a couple quick pictures of the guest room with my phone, before the transformation into Timothy's room happens. So here is the old guest room:

And we are slowly but surely deciding where the rest of the furniture from the room is going to. My mom and I are both really ready to get this nursery ready! So hopefully I will have some pictures of the transformation up soon!
Another development in our pregnancy- I think I may a few more weeks with my dear beloved belly button before it is no longer an "innie". Honestly, that is one of the most visible ways I can see my belly growing!Seeing the belly button get smaller and smaller!

Anyway, I know this post is short, but I have got to get back to work!

Brandon Timothy Blackwell II

It's a Boy

Here are some photos from the ultrasound! If you click on them, you can see them better.

I don't know if you can tell in the pictures, but the two lower pictures that show the profile, really make me think that this baby is going to look so much like Brandon! The baby has his lips for sure!

But about the appointment. I stayed awake half the night Wednesday night, just praying that the appointment would go well and that the baby would be healthy. I wanted that far more than knowing the sex of the baby. I didn't mention to Brandon that they would be doing a full anatomy scanning during the appointment, because I didn't want to get him stressed. But the entire time the lady performed the ultrasound, I kept asking, "does that look ok?" Finally, at the end she told me everything looked great, but I wanted her to tell me more specific medical answers. But regardless, the end result was the same-- Healthy!!!!

We also learned that the baby is 15 oz. that falls under 37% of babies for weight and weeks pregnant. Dr. Hearn told us that basically that means we will NOT have a ten pound baby. A fact that I can gladly say AMEN to!

After the appointment on Thursday, we drove to Greenville register at Babies R Us. We managed to click the scanner 108 times! But a lot of that is stuff we wanted multiples of. Plus, we tried to hit each price range, so not to make anyone feel like they need to spend a certain amount on us.

We are having a "baby party" on March 20th!! The reason I say "baby party" is because I was saying "shower" and Brandon said that guys will not want to come if they hear the word "shower." So I am switching it up! I think that the party will be a ton of fun!! Brett is going to cook bbq for us and cater the party at my parents house. And if you know my parents, you know- they know how to party. So I am already really excited!!

Anyway, that is about it for updates for this past week. You will also be happy to know that I have actually taken care of some of those cravings I had from the post before!! I have been enjoying being able to eat things that I really, really want!

Cravings and More!

Since my post last week, I have discovered that Tina is also following this blog, so I gotta step up my game a little bit and post more since I officially have two followers! ha!

The title of this post is cravings. I have them something crazy!

I actually compiled a list of things I would like to eat while in bed last night! ha! These are in no particular order and yes, I realize most of these are not healthy choices, but it is what the baby and I want. And trust me, me and my baby are not cheap dates! As you will see.

-Steak, steak and more steak! (any kind, any where! but preferably filet mignon)

-Shrimp, grilled and fried with cocktail and tartar sauce and those hush puppies!

-From the ChopHouse: Onion rings, ChopHouse ceasar salad- but with balsamic dressing instead of ceasar, and Lobster- 2 pounder!

-From Cincinnati: Skyline 4-way with onions, Graters chocolate ice cream, Montgomery Inn Ribs, La Rosa's Pizza and a UDF malt!! If you have no idea what any of those are, go check out this web site: http://cincyfavorites.com/ It will make you wish you too were from Cincy, like me!

-From Steak and Shake: Their version of a Cincinnati 4-way. (not as good as the original, but will get you through a bad a craving.) A steak burger and a milkshake.

Anything from Lieu's Chinese Bistro.

Baked potato with butter and ranch dressing!

The Melting Pot! Do I really need to say more?

There were a ton more when I was laying in bed hungry last night, but I can't think of all of them right now.

In other news: The baby is the length of a carrot this week!

And the big day is Thursday! I can't believe it is almost here!
I am totally excited and I know I am going to be blown away with the news, either way.

And seeing our little one again, will probably make me cry! I haven't had an utlrasound since the 9th week! And I know baby has grown a ton since then! And as active as the little bundle is, I am hoping that Thursday we will get a show because it is hard to describe to Brandon what it feels like when the baby is moving and a shaking in there so for him to see it, I think will help!

So, until Thursday, when I let you know what I am having-- have a great week!
