Tbird's Birthday Party Review Decor & Food

Timothy is two.  After picking myself off the ground at this revelation, I got really excited about his birthday.

Those of you that know me, know I am a crazy planner when it comes to his birthday. I have a theme ready for the next three years-no joke.  I do this so I can buy a little all year long, so I am not spending crazy money two weeks out.

If you follow me on Twitter or FB or saw the invites I posted, you already know our theme. But for everyone else, we did a Construction Theme!

After many nights spent on Pinterst getting ideas and tips, I decided to try my hand at cake making. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but thankfully it turned out pretty well.

We have an architect friend that provided blueprints for us that you can see under the cake. We used them throughout the party as decoration.

We hosted the party from 3-5, in hope that everyone would be good on naps. Unfortunately, almost everyone arrived with mom's saying, "______ just would not take a nap today!" I dubbed the party the "No Nap Zone." However, it did not stop the fun.

We went with basics for food this year. Hotdogs, smiling french fries and mac n cheese. We also made  Chicken Wing dip and Cheese dip. My mom and I found some color appropriate candy, and Aunt Hey made her famous orange velvet cupcakes.

Construction "Tires"

That Tonka truck is BTB's from when he was little.

The construction hats, plates, napkins, flatware, buckets and tablecloths--all from dollar stores. Really lucked out on those items. The cones we ordered off a party web site. The chips, candy and donuts-- all from my new favorite grocery store--ALDI.

My mom then took the plain old tablecloths and napkins and used her construction truck stamp and got to stamping. It really made an impact. I made all the cupcake toppers and labels on my Mac.

So what do y'all think? Tomorrow I will post the activity details and any outside decor I missed in this review.

We are headed to our two year appointment today. Please say a quick prayer, we find out today if we will need to visit an endocrinologist for T's growth progress.

Have a great Monday!
