Sorry in advance for the picture size/quality. I am not sure what is going on with Blogger today. I took these pictures on my good camera, but blogger makes them look super blurry when I make them any larger than how they are showing, right now.
I heeded the advice of many moms and got a bounce house. It was relatively cheap and since we kids from 2-8 in attendance, it helped, because kids of all ages love bounce houses.
We had some kind of construction equipment. I am not sure what this baby was called, but boy, the kids loved it. And everyone had their pictures made on it. We borrowed this from a contractor friend. We love the hook-ups. But again, this was a huge hit-even with the little girls. This friend also provided us with construction cones and construction fence as well.
I also had a paint station. I picked up a bunch of wooden trucks at Michael's. They were on sale and I used my old college ID (he-he) to get a 10% student discount. I bought three large containers of paint that all the kids could share and about 30 paint brushes for the kids to use.
My dad constructed the cool work bench for the kids. I lucked out while at a local consignment shop and got most of the tools you see for $4.00. My dad is a great handy man. And he also made the saw horses you may see in the background of the pictures. I told him if he ever wants to give up being a doctor, he could surely make it as a carpenter.
Pinterest came through again and gave us the idea for a "dirt station" that everyone just loved. I surprised the girls liked it too, but they were just as active playing in the dirt as the boys!
We also had a crayon station and bubbles for the little ones that wanted to take it a little more easy. My parents neighbors gave us that Little Tykes bench, but my mom in true interior designer fashion-painted it.
Finally, we had swings available as another option for the kids to play on. And they seemed to like that as well.
The only thing I wish we would have done differently is have seating for parents out there. We were so busy focusing on the kids, we forgot to think of what the parents might need. And since so many of the stations were kid friendly, the parents didn't need to overly supervise.
Hope y'all have a great Tuesday! Tomorrow I will do my final birthday review post. And this one will include people. I will also update y'all on our big doctors appointment!
