Why Walk?

I have never pretended that I can I write profound blog posts. I don’t think my writing moves people to tears. Or substantial laughter, for that matter. I think I am funny--but I am not quitting the day job to do stand-up.

But today, I sit humbly in front of this computer screen talking about something near and dear to my heart. The March of Dimes. I wish I could put into words the amount of gratitude we have for this organization. This gratitude has turned into our commitment to give back.

Two years ago, as BTB and I sat watching Timothy fight, he looked at me and said something I will never-ever forget. “You know how many times I have said “no” when people ask me to donate to the March of Dimes? I can’t believe how much support they’ve given us. From now on, we are giving back to them.”

From that moment, every time I am asked to donate at the grocery store or calling campaign-we give. I know a lot of people have charitable organizations they give to or support for personal reasons, this is ours.

You’ve all heard me say it before, “the NICU taught us how to be parents—that part I will never regret or want to take back.” Part of that NICU experience was having the folks from the March of Dimes helping us and offering guidance and support. We would not be the parents or the people we are today, if not for them.

I’m not here to beg and plead for donations, but I would like to take a second to use my platform here to say, if you are compelled to support our team and the March of Dimes, here is our team page.

Tomorrow morning, we walk. Not just for Timothy, but countless other little ones who are currently in the fight of their little lives. And for ones that didn’t win the fight, and went instead to heaven to be with Jesus.

Please say prayers for our walk, for the babies in the NICU right now and the March of Dimes as it continues to raise awareness for prematurity and helping the babies born too early.

Here are our shirts for tomorrow! Yay!

Aren't they fun?! Hope y'all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by today.
